Daniel Zdroik – mrWF Work Ethic Scholarship
I got an email from a proud parent of scholarship recipient, Daniel Zdroik, featured on this page last year. http://bit.ly/DZdroik Dan is competing in Louisville at the SkillsUSA national competition for the second time in two years. Good luck Dan! Here’s what Dan’s mom wrote…
My son Daniel Zdroik was one of the recipients of the mrWF Work Ethic Scholarships in 2016. He would never toot his own horn, but I wanted to give you an update on what he’s accomplished since you last talked to him.
Dan graduated with distinction from Mid-State at the end of May (debt free), and will be continuing his education at North Central Technical College in the fall. He does all this while working at a great place called Marten Machining, a huge supporter of the Youth Apprenticeship program in our state, which is how Dan got started in this whole field.
Dan also won first place for the second year in a row at the SkillsUSA competition and will again be competing at the national level this week. He took fifth place last year, and is very motivated to do better this year. I know that you and Mike Rowe are huge supporters of SkillsUSA, and it’s such a great opportunity for these kids.
I didn’t just want to brag about my son, I wanted to take a minute to thank you, the foundation and of course Mike Rowe for all you do, not just helping financially, but also providing inspiration for so many.
So again thank you, and please pass the message along to all the hard working people at the foundation, and Mike too.
Thanks, Sheryl for the kind words! – Chuck
